50th Merdeka Celebration

I've never celebrated Merdeka before.

Since I was born in KL, moved to Penang, moved to China, moved back to KL, through my MUFY and Monash Malaysia days, I've never celebrated Merdeka.

I did this year, in Melbourne Australia. -_-

I was surprised to realized that most Malaysian Societies in various universities organized Merdeka celebration in different clubs; Monash Clayton in Velour, Monash Caulfield in Gravity, Melbourne Uni and RMIT did it together in some other clubs.

Malaysians are everywhere!!

We decided to join the Monash Caulfield celebration in Gravity in the end, which brought no regrets, though a very tiring night. =)

We entered the club at around 10pm after having dinner at Crown. As we were walking towards the club, Malaysian flags can already be seen wrapped around the tree nearby, wore by a guy at the entrance, and hanging at the entrance of the club...

Yea i know picture's too dark...its taken with a phone aiitee?? -_-

It was still quite empty when we arrived as it is still early...however the crowd arrived fast and a short while later the club was packed with patriotic Msians dancing and drinking =P. The place was being divided into two sections, one for the R&B lovers while the other was for the trance lovers...I have to say, the R&B area is way more packed ;)

A few Msians rapper performed an hour before the countdown (which is at 2am, since Aussie time is 2 hrs ahead)...and at the precise time, the countdown initiated with the msian DJ shouting "Merdeka!" a few times while the crowd screamed and shouted frantically...

Man, I've never felt so patriotic.

Nah thats not me, im not THAT patriotic yet

Anywayz...we left at 3am and had to wait till 5:07am for the first train to come...dun really wanna take the taxi which will cost us more than 50 dollars to get home =P

Where is my lovely Vios when i need her?!

The empty streets

Decided to visit Hungry Jacks as it is the only place that is open 24 hours...but before i can enjoy my burger, i was dragged outta the place by the girls as there are many aussies sitting there that was drunk and being violent (throwing coke against wall, talking loudly, cursing everyone)

Not a very safe place to be in eh?

Anywayz,

We decided to walk to the 24 hrs McD further away which was quite empty...and enjoyed our supper in peace...
