Assignment Crisis

I've never had so many assignments due on the same day before.

Tomorrow, (Thursday, 30th Aug) I will be passing up 4 assignments, which includes one that was due last week but the hard copy due this week, and one that is due Friday but i finished early.

4 assignments.

In one day.

After going through all the hardship of googling, sleepless nights and swearing at my computer and printer, which, of all time chooses this time to frustrate me, I'm proud to say, I'VE DONE ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!

WOOHOO!!!!

Not easy. Not easy.

Chuck And Larry

I've seen this movie a while ago...but never had the time to post it...thus...here we go...

Another one of Adam Sandler's movie...which i have to say, he is still as good as before =)

Worth a watch, worth the money to make you laugh ;)

A Problem

Its 4:47am now, 28 August 2007.

And I have a big, huge, massive problem.

I can't SLEEP.

Havent had this problem since a long, long, long time ago.

Everytime i lie my body down basically anywhere or just pop my head on the table, i can sleep like there's no tomorrow.

But tonite, somehow, i cant.

Whenever i close my eyes, assignment questions start popping up in my thoughts like crazy, man...am i that stressed up these days?

I really need to loosen up a bit.

And...

Must be the hair as well. -_- I need a haircut.

ATI FireGL V8650

ATI introduced the CrossFire technology at year 2005.

At that time, i was shocked, impressed, and was itching to get one.

I never did, as i dun have a desktop -_-

CrossFire Setting (Picture from www.ati.com)

Basically, with two graphic cards, everything doubles. You will be running two GPU instead of one, your graphic memory doubles....you can smile in your dreams just to think of it ^_^

However...

As i was browsing through the net randomly today, i came across this:

(Picture from www.ati.com)

ATI FireGL V8650, with 2GB OF VIDEO MEMORY!

#(*&$@*(@!*&*$%^%&$^&$^#$@

The technology leap is so bizzare that it is not even funny anymore

Imagine that monster, in CrossFire settings (if they actually do have it)

Insane.

French Toast Recipe

Ever feel hungry middle of the night but dun feel like eating instant noodles? Ever craving for something different yet not sure what to cook? HERE COMES A SOLUTION!!

HOME MADE FRENCH TOAST!!!

However...before i start, lemme clarify that this recipe is being "created" (what i meants is the combination of stuff =P), not copied from any recipe books or website. Thus, seeing that we are not professional cook, COOK IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! (I've cooked this twice and twice my stomach loved it, so shouldnt be a problem ^_^)

Anyways, Let's Start!!

Note: All ingredients are for 2 person.

Ingredients:
4 pieces of bread (any kind of bread)
4 Eggs
Some Cup Mushrooms
Some Strawberries
Some Grapes
5 Pieces of Bacon
Sugar
White Pepper
Black Pepper
Butter/Margarine
Milk
Maple Syrup

The Ingredients...no, the Chivas is not included

First of all, cut the bacon into tiny pieces. The best way to do it is to cut the bacon into half horizontally, then from there cut them into tiny pieces.

Next, wash the cup mushrooms, then cut them into slices. The easiest way to do so is to cut it upside down, with the stem facing upwards.

Then...time for the eggs! Crack them open all into a bowl, and beat it. Add a teaspoon of sugar, some white pepper, and some milk.

The preparation is now done. Heat up the pan with some oil in it. Make sure the oil is spread around the pan evenly. First thing to be cooked will be the toast itself.

Now, something important you need to know before dumping the bread with egg in. Make sure you switch the fire to low fire first, or else before you know it you will be smelling the sweet burnt smell and seeing smoke around your house. =P

Dip the whole bread into the bowl of egg (make sure both sides are covered with egg), then gently place it on top of the pan.

Constantly flip the bread to each sides until the eggs on the surface of the bread is cooked. Place the bread on a plate with paper towel to suck all the oil, then cut the bread diagonally into half. (*Note: There is an easier way to do this by cutting the bread into half first, then only dip into the egg and fry them). Place the egg aside for now.

Next, is to fry the bacon pieces. Wipe the pan first to make sure that its dry and clean, then heat it up again. This time, dun put any oil on it, reason being that bacons do have a lotta oil in themselves, so cooking them does not require any oil, their fats will do the job ;). Just fry them until they are cooked. Should take you around 6 minutes. =)

Clean the pan again. And heat the pan again. This time, its the mushrooms turn. No, dun put oil, put butter or margarine depending on ur own preference. Now, only put one tablespoon of it, not too much, or else the whole thing will get too wet.

Stir the mushroom around until all the butter are fully absorbed by the mushrooms, then add black pepper around it, fry it a bit more, then its done! =)
(*Note: If the whole things has been too wet and there are still butter around no matter how much you fry it, transfer the mushrooms onto a plate first, dry up the pan, then fry the mushrooms again)

An example of too much butter, causing the whole thing to be too wet

Now...thats all for the cooking part, 10% to go!

Cut the fruits into pieces (as much as you like). Place the bread on the plate, with the mushrooms beside it, then top the bread with ham and the fruits.

One last touch, add some maple syrup around the dish. Trust me, it really enhances the taste, unless you totally dislike maple syrup. =P

And....Ta-Dah!!!! You now have yourself a dish that no one else had before. =P

Yes, it does look like a lotta work. But the end product is definately satisfying (at least for me it is). If you did try it, please do give me feedbacks. And if you have any comments or suggestions on how i can improve, please do tell me too =).

Have fun ppl =)

GRADUAN Career Fair 2007

Last Sunday, I attended the GRADUAN Career Fair, held in Arrow on Swanston in the city.

GRADUAN Career Fair Goodie Bag

GRADUAN Career Fair is a organized to help Malaysian students enter the Malaysian working world by acting as the middle person between the employers and the fresh graduates. They started their initial operations in Malaysia, and now, have extended to target Malaysian students in Melbourne, Sydney, and apparently London as well.

Freebies, Anyone?

Makes me wonder though, why spend the money, and come all the way here to recruit us back to Msia?

And Im not talking about some random comapanies, but major, well known companies in Malaysia that sent their HR department and directors to come recruit us.

Every company seems to be the best choice, seems to provide the best environment, seems to be giving the best pay. Makes me think for a second there that job opportunities are huge in the Msian market, when in fact many fresh grads in Msia are not getting jobs.

But then again, it might not be the problem of the job opportunities, but the problem of the students themselves.

Anywayz, I got myself an interview as well, and the whole process went better than i thought =). Indeed a very good experience and heads-up for future interviews that i have to face. ^_^

10 x 2 Hour Full Fare Zone 2

I have punched my final 10 x 2 Zone 2 Ticket.

I had to purchase a new one today to go to Clayton Town...

sigh...

Another $19 gone.

Damn Metlink.

Springvale, Camberwell, City

Sunday, is the day for market-ing.

But this Sunday, things are gonna be slightly different, because we are not gonna take a train there. Eric and his gf fetched us there. ^_^

Vietnamese Pork Roll

And the main reason they wanna go there, is because they wanted to try the Vietnamese Pork Roll...which, we havent tried as well.

Vietnamese Pork Roll

It looks like a Subway, and what they stuff inside is all kinda vietnamese homemade pork ham, carrots, some veg, and chilli. It taste pretty nice...but, if u do bite into the chilli, it does kinda burns ur mouth n then numbs ur lips =P

Camberwell

After Eric dropped us back home and we are done storing all the raw food into the fridge, we took a train to Richmond, and from there change to the Belgrave train and went to Camberwell.

Camberwell

Its the first time ive been here, and it resembles Chapel street quite a lot, with shops on both sides of the streets and a tram line right in the middle of the street.

Camberwell Again

We passed by a place called Choclatte and was quite tempted to try. However, we ended up having our late lunch in Sofia. Dun worry Choclatte, i will be back. =P

Sofia Pizza House

Its been a while since I wanted to try this place. I've heard that its extremely good, yet I've also heard that its not that nice. To fulfill my curiousity, its about time to try it myself.

Sofia Pizza House

We ordered a large Smoked Salmon Pizza, which is a gourmet pizza. I would say, it didnt reach my expectation. However, i like the pizza's crust as it is crispy and thin, which makes the whole bitting experience of it pretty good (you know how it is like when we start chewing the Pizza Hut un-eat-able crusts). But the overall taste combination of the smoked salmon and the pizza is not that great. I would like to try their pastas and other classic pizzas one day though. Price wise i would say that its just average.

Our seat, X5

Smoked Salmon Pizza

Ice Chocolate and Latte

Still a good place to chill out and hang out with friends though...and a nice place if you like to order a few dishes and share with your friends, coz the portion is REALLY big. =P

Address:
857 Burke Road,
Camberwell, VIC 3124

The Tram Ride

Yea yea, i know, its just a tram ride. But to ride it from Camberwell to the City?

It takes us around 50 minutes to reach Lonsdale Street in the city...while taking a train to Melbourne central will take us the most...15 minutes? =P Anywayz, we took it coz we havent tried taking tram 72 before, so there we are, taking the longer route to the city (yes, we do have a lotta time to kill)

Camberwell Junction Tram Stop

The Simpson Movie

We decided to watch the long awaited The Simpson Movie as we reach the city...

The Simpson Family

Short movie. But funny...and as usual, all the dumb and stupid stuff u find in Simpsons that make u laugh ur ass off even though it doesnt make sense at all.

Ah wellzzzz

Alas, there goes, my Sunday and Sunday Saver ticket.

Movie, Dinner, and Dessert

License to Wed

Watched the movie "License to Wed" in Melbourne Central's Hoyts...i would say that it was quite a nice, funny movie. Worth a watch. =) Im not gonna say anything about the movie's plot or storyline here...go wikipedia for those who wants the spoiler =P

License to Wed

The Movie Tickets

Laksa King

Had dinner at the famous Laksa King located near the Newmarket train station...i would say, so far among all the "Malaysian" cuisines i have tried in Melbourne, this one is THE best. Especially the curry laksa, totally superb for us who are deprived of some serious Msian food...those who hasnt been there, go, its worth the troublesome journey there, and the long wait (we waited for 45 minutes just to get a table yday).

Laksa King

Address:
320 Racecourse Rd,
Flemington, VIC 3031

Cafe Greco

Dessert was at Cafe Greco. Not the one at Crown Hotel, but the one at Chapel St. What's the difference? Everything. The service is better, the cakes are better, the environment is better, heck, even the water taste better -_-

Newayz, we had the cakes there and as usual, they satisfy our needs for sugar =P

Chocolate Strawberry Cake

Strawberry Cheesecake

Another place that has to be tried.

Address:
560 Chapel St,
South Yarra, VIC 3141

New Monash Parking

While i was minding my own business online a few days ago, an msn messsenger chat box popped up, with this message:

"Monash will be charging 50/month for Season parking. Parking rates will commence tmr (1st Aug). Only 50 places for students. List already full. MUSA committee first people to purchase it, and no publicity about it to the students. MUSA serving students? Riight... Boycott MUSA. Pass this around to Monash students."

Hm...to only sell 50 car seasonal pass to over 2000 students, wouldnt that be a lil dumb?? 0_0

i mean, considering that in KL, 9 outta 10 uni students have a car, yet monash uni is only offering 50?!

the ratio does not make sense, surely monash is doing something abt it eh? =P

DONE!!!!

I'VE FINALLY FINISHED BLOGGING ABT THE TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bird Shit-Head

Day 10 - Sydney Fourth Day, Last Day of The Trip

11th July 2007. Day 10. Wednesday.

The end of the trip has arrived.

We spent the morning making last minute packings. My parents are due to fly back to KL on the 2:30pm flight, while im on the 5:30pm flight to Melbourne. However, we do need to check out at 12 -_-

Family pic, taken outside the hotel after checking out

My dad booked a hotel car to the airport, and since i dun wanna be at the airport that early, i asked them to go ahead, while i started my solo journey among the city again...

i walked around aimlessly, trying to kill time...bought 5 books for only 20 dollars in a book sale, drank a cup of coffee...until there is really no where else to go, and i decided, heck, might as well go to the airport now...thus...i bought a one-way train ticket...to the domestic airport terminal...

Airport Domestic. One-Way. $12.20

As i arrived...i had to wait for 2 hours before the check in counter opens, then another two hours to board...and finally, another one n a half hour to arrive to Melbourne...

I bought a SunBus ticket...which brings me from the airport to Southern Cross Stn...for $19, it is way better than a $150 taxi

Avalon Airport to Southern Cross Stn. $19.00

The trip took approximately 45 minutes...once there, i met up with Jia, SH, HY, Wendy n her friends...had dinner with them...then head back to the missed Monash Green... =P

My journey around Melbourne and Sydney has officially ended. =)

Day 9 - Sydney Third Day

10th July 2007. Day 9. Tuesday.

My sister got upgraded to Business Class. >.<

My dad is using his Enrich Points to upgrade her >.< (My parents are already in Business Class)

Thus we have to go to the MAS office in Sydney to get the ticket changed. Upon enquiry at the Concierge, we found out that the office (Spring St) is within walking distance from the hotel, thus there we go again, walking to our destination.

I have to say, this city is seriously filled with cool buildings. No matter where we walk to, there are definately some standing here n there

Some clock tower...

I would love to live on the top floor of this one

After finishing the issues with the ticket, we took a taxi to the highlight location of the trip...Sydney Fish Market

Sydney Fish Market

Some Bridge

I have to say, this is definately an eye opener for me. My parents had been to the fish market in San Francisco years years ago and now they are trying to find something similar, as for me, heck, with all the seafood i can get, im more than happy =>

Live Mud Crabs

Live King Crabs

This will burn a hole straight through ur pockets

Scallops

Spanner Crab

Green Moreton Bay Bug (no idea wat the hell is this -_-)

Heaps of Fresh Oysters

We bought heaps of food and found a table outside by the docks, and ate...

Food food food that we got

with fresh oysters

and tuna with fried rice

As we were eating...a group of mafia came...they surrounded us...staring at us...circling us...waiting for us to surrender...they areee.....

THE SEAGULL MAFIAS

They are below us...

They are above us...

They are beside us...

And they are staring at us....

While the Big Brother is watching...

=P

enough fooling around

newayz after the meal, we went walking around the market, and we saw that not only they sell seafood, but they also do sell fruits, cheese, hams, and stuff like those...

Me n sis walked back to the hotel while my parents made a de tour to the casino...

As me n sis rest in the hotel, we decided to take another walk in the shopping malls...thus we went...and after that, we decided, to, visit the National Maritime Museum

the museum

the entrance

anchors displayed near the entrance

newayz the museum itself was free to enter...and it was quite boring -_- due to the time constraint, we have not been able to visit the warship and submarine docked outside the museum...a regret of the trip

the warship and submarine

we went back to the hotel after the visit...and called it a day...
