French Toast Recipe

Ever feel hungry middle of the night but dun feel like eating instant noodles? Ever craving for something different yet not sure what to cook? HERE COMES A SOLUTION!!

HOME MADE FRENCH TOAST!!!

However...before i start, lemme clarify that this recipe is being "created" (what i meants is the combination of stuff =P), not copied from any recipe books or website. Thus, seeing that we are not professional cook, COOK IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! (I've cooked this twice and twice my stomach loved it, so shouldnt be a problem ^_^)

Anyways, Let's Start!!

Note: All ingredients are for 2 person.

Ingredients:
4 pieces of bread (any kind of bread)
4 Eggs
Some Cup Mushrooms
Some Strawberries
Some Grapes
5 Pieces of Bacon
Sugar
White Pepper
Black Pepper
Butter/Margarine
Milk
Maple Syrup

The Ingredients...no, the Chivas is not included

First of all, cut the bacon into tiny pieces. The best way to do it is to cut the bacon into half horizontally, then from there cut them into tiny pieces.

Next, wash the cup mushrooms, then cut them into slices. The easiest way to do so is to cut it upside down, with the stem facing upwards.

Then...time for the eggs! Crack them open all into a bowl, and beat it. Add a teaspoon of sugar, some white pepper, and some milk.

The preparation is now done. Heat up the pan with some oil in it. Make sure the oil is spread around the pan evenly. First thing to be cooked will be the toast itself.

Now, something important you need to know before dumping the bread with egg in. Make sure you switch the fire to low fire first, or else before you know it you will be smelling the sweet burnt smell and seeing smoke around your house. =P

Dip the whole bread into the bowl of egg (make sure both sides are covered with egg), then gently place it on top of the pan.

Constantly flip the bread to each sides until the eggs on the surface of the bread is cooked. Place the bread on a plate with paper towel to suck all the oil, then cut the bread diagonally into half. (*Note: There is an easier way to do this by cutting the bread into half first, then only dip into the egg and fry them). Place the egg aside for now.

Next, is to fry the bacon pieces. Wipe the pan first to make sure that its dry and clean, then heat it up again. This time, dun put any oil on it, reason being that bacons do have a lotta oil in themselves, so cooking them does not require any oil, their fats will do the job ;). Just fry them until they are cooked. Should take you around 6 minutes. =)

Clean the pan again. And heat the pan again. This time, its the mushrooms turn. No, dun put oil, put butter or margarine depending on ur own preference. Now, only put one tablespoon of it, not too much, or else the whole thing will get too wet.

Stir the mushroom around until all the butter are fully absorbed by the mushrooms, then add black pepper around it, fry it a bit more, then its done! =)
(*Note: If the whole things has been too wet and there are still butter around no matter how much you fry it, transfer the mushrooms onto a plate first, dry up the pan, then fry the mushrooms again)

An example of too much butter, causing the whole thing to be too wet

Now...thats all for the cooking part, 10% to go!

Cut the fruits into pieces (as much as you like). Place the bread on the plate, with the mushrooms beside it, then top the bread with ham and the fruits.

One last touch, add some maple syrup around the dish. Trust me, it really enhances the taste, unless you totally dislike maple syrup. =P

And....Ta-Dah!!!! You now have yourself a dish that no one else had before. =P

Yes, it does look like a lotta work. But the end product is definately satisfying (at least for me it is). If you did try it, please do give me feedbacks. And if you have any comments or suggestions on how i can improve, please do tell me too =).

Have fun ppl =)
