Day 4 - Clayton Campus & Home Cook Food

5th July 2007. Day 4. Thursday.

As my parents left the house early in the morning to go to Springvale again, i was dead asleep. Even though i was sleeping in the living room, i didnt hear them went out the house...neither did the other two girls sleeping in the rooms. We were all dead tired and sleeping like pigs that didnt sleep for 3 days -_- .

We basically bumped around the whole morning n afternoon...then in the late afternoon, HY, SH, and Wendy arrived to clayton town, thus Jia went over to find them n guide them through the town...

As my sis havent been to the Clayton campus before...i decided to bring her over...

All we did is walked around while she got busy with the camera...

As the night creeps in, so does those who comes to the Home Cook Session in my house =P My parents cooked Msian home cooked food and asked me to invite ppl over to eat...hehe...thus thats wat happened...

Day 3 - Berwick Campus & Berwick Town

4th July 2007. Day 3. Wednesday.

Yes, I'm back to Berwick again.

Same journey, same routine, only with more people in a colder weather.

Due to the coldness of the weather, i changed jackets with my dad, my puffy hoodie jacket was given to my dad while i wear his leather jacket...and for the day, i look like some serious punk kid -_-

As we arrived the Berwick campus, we were all freezing, thus bought coffee from the small cafe in the main building of the campus....holding the coffee, we walked around the campus touring around ourselves.

We bumped into one of the buddies of orientation that was being held there named Joo, and that kind fella brought us to a guy who was in charge of the hostels...which led us to a tour of my sister's future accommadation. ;)

We bumped into HY and SH and Wendy doing their orientation...thus Jia followed them while me and my parents n sis went exploring the Berwick town.

Berwick town is approximately 15 minutes walk away from the campus...a town larger than clayton, yet less convinient (lack of asian grocery, chinese restaurant, etc) however, it is a town with old buildings that made it look like a 19th century small town...a nice feeling to walk around...hehehe...

The day ended as we made our walk back to the Berwick train station to take a train back...with dinner in Clayton town's Wah Kee...another tiring day...another early night for another early tomorrow...

Day 2 - Springvale & City

3rd July 2007. Day 2. Tuesday.

We woke up early. Earliest of all the days ever since holiday started. Reason: To go to Springvale. My parents had planned to cook in Melbourne for us since its been a long time we had some "proper" homecook food ;) thus, the springvale trip.

It takes approximately 15 minutes for us to walk to the train station, and that kinda came as a shock to my parents and sister. Wellz, not surprising, since it was a shock to me when i first abandoned my life with my baby VIOS and took up walking here =P

The surprise of the day: There is actually off-peak metlink ticket!! According to the ticket counter's officer, if we travel after 9am in the morning, we are eligible to purchase off-peak tickets, which, is cheaper than a full fare ticket. Geez, been cheated for a blardy semester. Screw you metlink!

The arrival to Springvale just presented as another small town to them, and more walks as we make our way to the market...

Not much to talk about the market as like any other markets around the world, it has meat, seafood and veges....my parents were walking around looking for things that cannot be bought in Msia, while my sister was snapping away with the camera taking photos, with me n jia bringing my parents to the shops they wanna see...in conclusion, we were basically all over the market...

We finally finished our market trip with lots of stuff and a very hungry stomach...and my dad suggested the Italian place in Clayton called La Porchetta for lunch...apparently, that place had been his friend's favorite place (the Lygon Branch) when she was studying in Melbourne 10+ years ago... -_-

After lunch, all of us dragged ourselves back home, stored all the stuff into the fridge...and had a small rest...before we all scrambled to our feets again to head towards the city...

Nothing much in the city...we just walked around...visited the tourist information center...had coffee in Brunetti...met up with my high school friend eric and had dinner together...visited Crown hotel and casino...basically a typical tourist routine =P

Day 1 - Arrival @ Melbourne Airport

2nd July 2007. Day 1. Monday.

My parents was supposed to arrive at 7pm in Melbourne...HOWEVER...knowing the "efficiency" of the flight industry these days...i suppose it is not a big surprise that it was delayed...

Initially i received an email from my dad when he was waiting in the airport lounge, telling me that the flight is being delayed for an hour...Thus, i remade my plan and left the house an hour later than planned...

To save myself from contributing to the unreasonably expensive fare of the taxis, i decided to take a train to the city (Southern Cross Station), and from there take a Skybus to the airport, which in the end took me approximately a total of an hour plus to reach the airport.

As i reach the airport, only i come to realize that the flight had been delayed for two hours instead of one. The frustration i had made me got a cup a coffee and pace around the airport restlessly. Blardy airlines, cant they be on time anymore?

However, a small drama happened while i was waiting. A luggage was left unattended in the airport, and was being reported to the airport security. Before we knew wat happened. Several police came and set up police lines around the luggage. They came with a portable x-ray device and carefully scanned the luggage.

The waiting crowd started surrounding the police lines staring at it curiously, which got me thinking, "if thats a real bomb going off, the curiousity of these people would kill them right there and then."

As the big hoo-haa was still in its proccedings, my parents and sister came out, finally. I greeted them, and led them outta the airport.

I did not manage to see the end of the event, yet when we were hopping up the taxi (which cost us 85 dollars to get back to Clayton btw), we saw the police coming out with the bag, so i guess its nothing after all, just another scare that happens quite oftenly around the world's airport, i suppose.

So people, dun leave ur bags laying around the airport unattended eh? =P

sorry ppl for not updating my blog for almost 2 weeks...my parents finally came to melbourne to visit me, in the same time to visit both melbourne and sydney...

how was it? wellzzz...me will blog abt it day by day...thus...check out the next post ^_^
